October 11, 8pm @ El Rey Theater

OohLaLA! is California's exclusive French music festival showcasing some of France's best musical talent alongside being one of the largest French artistic events in the United States.

The festival is back this October for its 5th edition and will present French actress, model, and vocalist, Lou Doillon, bringing her live performance to LA after the release of her debut album, PLACES.  The evening will be opened by songwriter and producer, Alexander von Mehren, and electronic music trio, Chateau Marmont.

September 28 (all night long!) @ Santa Monica

Inspired by the Paris Nuits Blanches, Glow is an all-night cultural experience featuring original commissions by artists that re-imagine Santa Monica Beach as a playground for thoughtful and participatory temporary artworks.

October 1 to January 5 @ J. Paul Getty Museum

Works from Paris based photographer Yuki Onodera will be on display at the visiting exhibition, "At the Window : The Photographer's View," coming to The J. Paul Getty Museum this Fall.

This exhibition, drawn primarily from the Getty Museum's own collection looks at the ways in which photographers have explored their medium by turning to the window as a framing device or conceptual tool.

Onodera's work has been presented at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Opening reception, October 8, 7-9pm @ Alliance Française de Los Angeles

Visual artist Armelle Falliex found a love for sculpture at an early age when she discovered works by Rodin, inspiring her to pursue the study of sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Nantes.  After several years, Falliex adopted painting as a prefferred medium and found a niche in acrylic, allowing her creativity to rein free.

The Fabien Castanier gallery will auction off works by Speedy Graphito, JonOne, Tilt, and Charlie Anderson.
Over 150 contemporary artists are represented, painters, sculptors, photographers and mixed media artists from all over the globe. A number of the artists from MOCA’s ART IN THE STREETS show will be represented, including Shepard Fairey, Mister Cartoon, RISK, Estevan Oriol and Todd James.

André Martin is a French actor living and working in Los Angeles with Independent Shakespeare Co. He starred this past summer in the festival as Macduff in Macbeth and Tony Lumpkin in She Stoops to Conquer.

André has created a new translation and adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, taking this large, expansive play and re-inventing it for a small space and seven actors.

November 3 to June 22, 2014 @ LACMA

Get ready for the first museum presentation of Agnès Varda’s artwork ! The « French New wave’s godmother » will be exhibiting a new major sculptural installation inspired by the time she spent in Los Angeles in the late 1960s, as well as a selection of her photographs. It will be accompanied by an extensive film at LACMA.

Agnès Varda is accompanied by LCAMA-organized film screenings happening October 25-26 as part of recent and newly restored films, presented by Varda in person, a retrospective series in December 2013, and a showcase of Varda's films alongside those of her Left Bank colleagues in May 2014.

In addition, the filmmaker will participate in Art on Screen : a Conversation with Agnès Varda on November 3, 2013 at the Getty Center.
