Fabien Castanier Gallery is excited to announce Metallic Tissue, an exhibition featuring new work by Kelly “RISK” Graval. Graffiti artists have always managed to leave their mark literally on the urban landscape and perhaps more profoundly on generations of artists who follow them. And in Los Angeles, no other artist has had such a major impact on the evolution of graffiti than RISK. This historic exhibition testifies to RISK’s impact on society – tracing his influence on Southern California as well as on the worldwide stage.

Gallerie Sparta presents the internationally renowned artist Hedva Ser in her first solo exhibition in America.  In 2013, Hedva Ser unveiled her sculpture the Tree of Peace at Palestinian Al Quds University. It was an unprecedented and historic event as Hedva also unveiled her Tree of Peace in 2007 at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. As an artist breaching both states, she shows her immense persuasion talent in creating peace through art.

440 HOPE is an artist residency program produced by MAD Agency. From November 1st-January 31st, five young contemporary French artists will be setting up shop at 440 HOPE in Downtown. Over the next three months, artists from both sides of the Atlantic will collaborate and combine their talents in the realms of painting, sculpture, music and film. Curated by Anatole Maggiar and Jay Ezra Nayssan, 440 HOPE will create a dynamic, avant-garde cultural bridge between Paris and Los Angeles.

Having just turned 50, Marie-France Lévesque returns to the stage "on pointe" after a serious car accident interrupted her dance career 14 years ago. This inspiring ballet and music performance is sure to surprise, delight and empower people of all ages to believe they can reinvent their lives and careers, overcome adversity, and pursue their dreams and passions even after 50, keeping those in their lives “on pointe.”

The UCLA Asia Institute's Distinguished Lecture Program on Chinese History presents professor Pierre-Étienne Will, Chair of History of Modern China at Collège de France, delivering two lectures entitled From Political Theory to Administrative Reality: Researching Late Imperial Chinese Official Handbooks and Working Aids and Late Imperial Chinese Official Handbooks and Working Aids: The Legal Dimension.

The UCLA Department of French and Francophone Studies and the Department of Music are launching a series of events entitled Sonnets & Sonatas. Combining lecture and concert, readings and recitals, the series aims to explore the relationship between music and literature. The first session will be dedicated to Proust and Music. Works by Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Franck, Hahn, Beethoven, Ravel, and Debussy will be performed by violinist Guillaume Sutre and students from the Department of Music. The lecture will be given by Jérémie Favreau.

André Martin is a French actor living and working in Los Angeles with Independent Shakespeare Co. He starred this past summer in the festival as Macduff in Macbeth and Tony Lumpkin in She Stoops to Conquer.

André has created a new translation and adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, taking this large, expansive play and re-inventing it for a small space and seven actors.

"Paris Windows" is a new series of photographs on canvas that brings Carol Kleinman's work with reflections to a new level.  In an instant, she captures a mysterious, multi-layered world merging reality with fantasy.  Windows are her inspiration, the camera is her tool.

Visual artist Armelle Falliex found a love for sculpture at an early age when she discovered works by Rodin, inspiring her to pursue the study of sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Nantes.  After several years, Falliex adopted painting as a prefered medium and found a niche in acrylic, allowing her creativity to rein free.
