The MAK Center for Art and Architecture and ForYourArt host DIALOGUES: Art/Architecture, Paris/Los Angeles, an event in several modes that brings together artists and architects from Paris and L.A. to share their experiences and ideas. Leading off will be a series of three discussions at the Schindler House, followed by an exhibition of drawings and models at ForYourArt, as well as a final panel discussion for the launch of the publication that will gather works by the participants, documentation of their exchanges, and essays.

William Clift, born in Boston in 1944, was a self-taught photographer whose 60 year career began at age 10. Clift’s work is known for its clarity and intensity. He photographed Shiprock and Mont St. Michel over the course of four decades.

TU (or “you”) is an exercise of view.  The piece features hooded dancers in a ghostly environment.  Hoods hide the faces and expressions of figures who, ultimately, all walk the same path.  An awakening reveals the differences behind everything that looks alike.

City Charter Elementary School is the dream of community members, parents, educators, and experienced charter operators to start a smaller, alternative learning community in West Adams with a focus on dual language immersion.

The charter petition was unanimously approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) on Jan 15, 2013.
