TEACHER TRAINING & RESOURCES

APPLICATION DEADLINE | APRIL 15, 2023

Are you an advanced, native or heritage French speaker? Are you interested in becoming a French teacher in the United States and do not know where to start? Look no further, the Multi-State Pathways to Teaching French program is made for you! This training opportunity aimed at jumpstarting a career in teaching French with a 60-hour long, 3-phased online curriculum is targeted at fluent French speakers all over the US, particularly native and heritage speakers.

According to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, 47 States and the District of Columbia report a dire shortage of foreign language teachers – and French is not exempt from this scarcity. Lack of human resources is even reported as the biggest constraint in developing the teaching of French in the US by school administrators.

This program aims to overcome these hurdles!

MOVIE AVAILABLE ONLINE: APRIL 21-23, 2023

We are honored to announce the next CinéSchool film Océans, le mystère plastique on April 22-23. The film is in French. It targets middle/high school students, but it could also be interesting for 4th and 5th grades. For this film, we have created specific pedagogical materials to introduce the topic and language interaction.

SYNOPSIS: 99% of the plastic that should be floating in the oceans is missing. As most plastic never deteriorates, it simply breaks down into smaller and smaller particles that are invisible to the human eye. In this film, scientists embark in search of the micro-plastics. Join us to discover what happens to this missing ocean plastic.

Presented as part of CinéSchool in partnership with Fondation Tara Océan.
