A Stage pédagogique de courte durée - SPCD is a training grant aimed at helping teachers perfect their skills in methodologies for teaching French language and culture. The SPCD grants are intended for teachers of French as a foreign language who teach in American elementary or secondary schools.

Each year, the Language Department of the French Embassy organizes a number of workshops for French teachers and university professors throughout the U.S. These 3-6 hour workshops led by specialists of French as a foreign language, are free and cover a variety of themes.

The Cultural Service at the Consulate General of France in Chicago would like to organize two upcoming workshops on the following themes: La Chanson dans la salle de Classe and Organisation en classe de langue d’activités de groupe. We are looking for schools, Alliance Française, universities and local AATF to host the workshops for local and regional French teachers. The French Embassy offers financial aid to American institutions universities, libraries, bookstores, publishing houses, and other venues across the United States wishing to host French authors for readings, signings, and symposia. The authors listed below are currently available for booking. Priority will be given to institutions which submit a detailed project for an American audience, especially events with wide visibility such as bookfairs and multidisciplinary festivals. Preference will also be given to panels involving International or American writers or events organized in conjunction with an exhibition or other special program.

The Partner University Fund supports educational and research partnerships between higher education institutions in France and America. Established in 2007 as a collaboration between the French government, American private donors, and the FACE Foundation, PUF supports research partnerships in all disciplines among two or more American and French institutions. The selection comitee favors collaborations that foster international educational exchanges, create joint degree programs or joint training courses, or propose joint research projects.  PUF contributes up to $100,000 in co-funding to projects.

Public : pour les classes de Middle et High Schools

Dans le cadre de la Semaine de la langue française et de la Francophonie en mars 2015, le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication lance, comme chaque année, l’opération « Dis-moi dix mots » qui invite les élèves de français du monde entier à réaliser individuellement ou collectivement une production littéraire reposant sur un travail linguistique, incluant une dimension artistique à partir de dix mots choisis…Les dix mots de cette édition 2015 « Dis-moi dix mots... que tu accueilles » illustrent la capacité de la langue française à accueillir des mots venus d'ailleurs et à les intégrer. Chaque année un kit pédagogique est mis à disposition des enseignants pour les aider à travailler sur ces mots. N’hésitez pas, partez à la découverte de ces dix mots avec vos élèves et laissez libre cours à leur imagination !

For the second edition, the Institut français in London and the BP Art Exchange at the Tate Britain would like to invite French and Art teachers in the United States to participate in an exciting initiative exploring Art and Language. The aim of this annual initiative is for classes to create a collective artistic piece of work responding to a selection of the 10 chosen French words based on the ‘Dis-moi dix mots... que tu accueilles’.

See the 2014 online exhibition featuring works by students from Bellaire High School, Houston, Texas, USA and Lovett School, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
