Marc Crépon is the chair of philosophy at Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris and director of research at the Archives Husserl (CNRS). He will be giving a lecture on "The Trial of Hatred" at Rice University.

The Museum of Modern Art Fort Worth's first Director's Council FOCUS exhibition for the 2014–2015 season features the work of French artist Jules de Balincourt. The exhibition presents a selection of key works spanning the past few years of the artist’s career alongside new works on view for the first time.

The exhibit "Faces of Impressionism" at the Kimbell Art Museum, explores the character and development of the portrait in French impressionist painting and scupture from the late 1850s until the first years of the 20th century.

The Menil exhibit "Experiments with Truth: Gandhi and Images of Nonviolence" is the first international project to explore the resonance of Gandhi's ethics of non-violence "satyagraha" in the visual arts. On display from October 2nd, 2014 to February 1st, 2015 an exhibit not to be missed. French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson's documenting of Gandhi's last years are major testimony of the period.

"Renoir to Remington: Impressionism to the American West" is the first comprehensive exhibition investigating the impact of French Impressionism on the direction of art of the American West and Southwest.

After a success at the Philbrook Museum of Art, the exhibit "Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River" is coming to Houston to explore Monet's take on the Seine River. The MFAH has also organized an extensive lineup of activities for all ages to celebrate the exhibit.

The first major American exhibition to consider French floral still life across the 19th century is on view at the Dallas Museum of Art until February 8, 2015.

The shipwreck La Belle is reconstructed live at the Bullock Museum in the special exhibition, La Belle: The Ship That Changed History.

The world premiere of "Oculus" a piece part of the American Prelude composed by Jean-Louis Agobet following its commissioned by the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra will be performed at the Tobin Center for Performing Arts on November 7 - 8, 2014.

Winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant has dazzled audiences around the world with her expressive style and masterful technique. She will be performing on November 8th at the Wortham Center in Houston.

A jazz exchange organized by the Texan-French Alliance for the Arts between Houstonian and Parisian artists will take place November 14 at the University of Houston Downtown, as part of Citizenship Month, a time when cultural, artistic, and community engagement activities are encouraged across Houston to celebrate the diversity of the city.

San Antonio’s vocal chamber ensemble Copperleaf performs a concert of a cappella French music from the early 20th-century and late Romantic eras. The program includes selections by Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saens, and Francis Poulenc. Take in both art and music during this in-gallery concert.

French filmmaker Philippe Garrel is the greatest explorer of contemporary cinematic existentialism. His last movie, La Jalousie is screening at the Austin Film Society this month, a not to be missed screening.

'Je t'aime, je t'aime" is screening at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Having long remained one of French master Alain Resnais’s (Last Year at Marienbad) “lesser-known masterworks” but surely one of his best works.

The MFAH's tribute to the legendary film critic and auteur, begun in September, continues with highlights from his middle and late periods. All of these films are presented on 35mm, with the exception of the digitally restored Jules and Jim. Truffaut died on October 21, 1984.

US release of La Chambre Bleue directed by Mathieu Amalric and written by Mathieu Amalric and Stéphanie Cléau. The movie is based on Georges Simenon's novel.
