Save the date and join us downtown Houston on March 9th, for the free and family-friendly 2018 French Cultures Festival kick-off concert. The event will showcase a bouncing mix of pop, soul and folk sounds on the Discovery Green outdoor stage, with The Blind Suns (France), Tomar and the FCs (Austin, TX) and The Great Novel (Québec). Attendees will also have the opportunity to taste an exclusive selection of delicacies and gourmet dishes from France and francophone countries. The event will be officially launching the French Cultures Festival, a long-month celebration of French language through cultural and educational events.

The Dallas Museum of Art announced three new additions to its European collection, including oil-on-paper work Woman with a Lamp (1909) by French painter Pierre Bonnard, and oil-on-canvas painting Zeus and Semele (c. 1632), by French baroque painter Jacques Blanchard.

FUSED: French U.S. Exchange in Dance fosters dialogue, strengthens professional relationships, and sparks creative artistry through cultural exchanges by introducing choreographers and performers whose works had never or rarely been seen in France or in the US. FUSED has expanded to include projects by artists from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, performing in the United States, as long as their work is co-produced by French cultural institutions. Eligible projects include productions, residencies, and the presentation and touring of French artists in the United States as well as American artists in France.

FACE Contemporary Theater Fund supports French-American artistic collaborations and co-productions that explore aesthetic boundaries and reflect the cultural and artistic diversity of the French and American contemporary scenes. Eligible projects include productions of contemporary playwrights, residencies of directors and performers, presentation and touring of French productions in the United States and American productions in France. Multidisciplinary and devised theater, young audience theater productions, contemporary circus, puppetry, and street theater projects are also eligible. The program has expanded to include projects by artists from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East performing in the United States, as long as their work is co-produced by French cultural institutions.

Artists (visual arts, music, writing, performing art, curatorship, films...) from all over the world can apply until March 1, for residencies starting between July and November 2018 and lasting from 2 to 12 months.

Étant donnés Contemporary Art Fund aims to strengthen ties between France and the U.S. in the field of contemporary art by fostering active collaboration and encouraging long-lasting partnerships between French visual artists, curators, and collectives and American curators and cultural institutions. The program includes: Grants to American institutions for exhibitions and artistic projects, Grants to American curators wishing to conduct and deepen their research in contemporary art in France and Grants for residencies for French or France-based visual artists seeking to spend 2 to 4 months in the United States.

A program of FACE Foundation and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, in collaboration with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, FAJE is designed to foster the creative and professional development of jazz artists from France and the United States. FAJE program proposes two grant components: grants for French and American musicians (Creative Project Grants) and grants for American presenters booking FAJE collaborations (FAJE On Tour).
