Kick off the Boston French Film Festival on July 13th at 6:30 pm with a free outdoor screening on the MFA lawn
of a sharp-witted comedy, Divorce French Style (Papa ou maman 2) starring Laurent Lafitte (Elle) and Marina Foïs (Polisse). Highlights from this year’s lineup also include Slack Bay (Ma Loute), a pitch-black comedy starring Juliette Binoche; and The Odyssey (l'Odyssée), a sun-drenched biopic about oceanographer Jacques Cousteau starring Audrey Tautou and Pierre Niney. Bastille Day returns to Marlborough Street! The street party will fill the entire block with a stellar concert, dancing, food and drinks. The line-up showcases two phenomenal francophone acts: Ben l’Oncle Soul, a soulful French singer with a unique retro style, and Daby Touré, who never fails to astound audiences with his ethereal voice and original songs.

The Île de France Children's Choir is touring in New England! They will be in Boston on Thursday, July 13th for an exceptional concert at St Cecilia Church in Boston. The entrance is free. The Choir will perform major works by French composers such as Fauré, Berlioz, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, as well as works by Mozart, Bach and Mendelssohn.

“Pierre Cardin: 70 Years of Innovation” opened in Rosecliff’s exhibition gallery on May 27th, featuring 42 original pieces from Cardin’s private archives that document and celebrate his prolific career from the 1950s through his 2016 spring/summer collection. Beginning his haute couture work with Christian Dior in 1946, Cardin helped develop the “New Look” that would forever change mid-20th Century fashions.

Son of the famous painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Jean Renoir is now considered a legendary director, a genius who defined cinematic realism and humanist filmmaking. The HFA will show all of Renoir’s work (including The Rules of the Game and Picnic on the Grass) in addition to documentaries about the director and his first screen effort as scenarist and producer. All silent films will feature live accompaniment.
