LE BULLETIN EDUCATIF DU MIDWEST

Dear friends of French language and culture,

The development of educational resources for teachers of French in the Midwest is one of the priorities of the Cultural Service at the Consulate of France in Chicago. More than ever, we would like to work as a network and allow each of you to join us in this dynamic group. Several educational tools in this issue have been developed for this purpose:

- The pedagogical webinars facilitate a virtual and interactive community of French teachers across the United States. The first was held in mid-January and was a great success, especially for teachers in the Midwest. The second will be on the use of the internet in class and will take place on February 13. Each of you can participate from your school or university and interact with other teachers across the United States.

-The Saint Louis Art Museum and the University of Missouri-St. Louis have developed new learning resource French Art/L'Art Français for teachers. More than a hundred sheets presenting the main collection of French art in the museum are free at your disposal with educational kits. After the Art Institute of Chicago, this is the second tool created with the support of the Cultural Service at the Consulate of France in Chicago. We hope to extend this partnership to all major museums in the Midwest.

- IF Cinema platform provides over 300 free subtitled films that French teachers can download for educational purposes. Educational kits are also available for download to help you develop a series of courses around the films.

I 'm sure you will fully use these new tools in order to diversify the content of your classrooms and to continue to engage long term passion for the French culture and language in your students.

Deputy Cultural Attaché
