Cultural Agenda

The Thing About France is a new podcast produced by the French Embassy in which Cultural Counselor Bénédicte de Montlaur interviews distinguished American figures with notable connections to France.

Episode #5 features Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art Adam Weinberg on cultural appropriation, funding sources in the art world, and more. What limits should be placed on cultural appropriation? Should we be using funds with questionable sources to support museums? Does private or public funding ensure greater creative independence?

Tune in every other Wednesday to hear new, compelling stories about people who have lived and worked in both French and American cultures.
