In the Winter 2017 edition of the Nasher Magazine (pages 66-74), assistant curator Leigh Arnold recounts her experience visiting art centers throughout France with a group of international curators. This curatorial fellowship was supported by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in 2016.

The Dallas Museum of Arts presents Daumier’s Political and Social Satire. The exhibition explores work exclusively from the DMA’s collection by French artist Honoré Daumier (1808–1879), known for his caricatures lampooning politics and society in 19th-century France.

The Rice School of Architecture Modern Lecture Series presents Invent Spaces for Uses, a lecture by Anne Lacaton, co-founder of Lacaton & Vassal architecture agency in Paris.

The FACE Contemporary Theater call for proposals is now open. The program supports productions of contemporary playwrights, touring of French productions in the U.S and American productions in France, as well as residencies of directors and performers in both countries.

The 2017 call for proposals from the Thomas Jefferson Fund is now open.  This new program, launched by the French Embassy in the United States and the FACE Foundation with the support of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, aims to encourage and support cooperation among the most promising young French and American researchers, and foster forward-looking collaborative research projects.

The  traveling exhibition Filming the Camps, from Hollywood to Nuremberg: John Ford, Samuel Fuller, George Stevens is on view at the Dallas Holocaust Museum. Curated by historian and film director Christian Delage, it is designed, created and distributed by the Mémorial de la Shoah (Paris, France).

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston will be screening Fanny's Journey by Lola Doillon and Marcel Pagnol's Marseille Trilogy: Marius, Fanny and César. Also this month, do not miss the popular Five Funny French Films series, including two films from the Young French Cinema 2017 selection, a program of Unifrance films, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
