Cultural Highlights of the Month

On June 27, Vincent Courtois and his trio will be in Oakland to record their new album: do not miss this unique opportunity to attend a live recording session in a state of the art studio! (Be sure to book fast as number of spots are limited.) On July 2, Vincent Courtois will also give a reading-concert with actor Pierre Baux at the Oakland Public Main Library. This hybrid performance (free and open to all) will be the first step before the full adaptation of Jack London's novel Martin Eden.

On June 20, French artist Julien Prévieux will participate in a panel presented at Root Division gallery (San Francisco), as part of the exhibition "What's Your Mother's Maiden Name?", curated by Tanya Gayer (on show June 5-29). The exhibition analyzes the governance of individual history seen in security questions and implements this question and answer protocol as a precedent to discuss online authorship, culture-construction, and systems of knowledge.
