FRANCE ALUMNI USA

On September 21, Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development, launched France Alumni USA, a new online platform and network for students and professionals who completed part or all of their studies in France. If you have studied in France, join the network by signing up here .

The Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston will be hosting a launch event in November in partnership with the Science and Technology department. Stay tuned for the date announcement!

GRANTS AND PROGRAMS
DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 6th

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, in partnership with Kickstarter, with support from NAFSA: Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), launches the second edition of the France on Campus Award under the patronage of film director Wes Anderson, to discover, celebrate and support initiatives that explore France in new and creative ways.

The Call for applications is open until November 6, 2016. Please note that it is not limited to student organizations with strong ties to France.

The Teaching Assistant Program in France offers students the opportunity to work in France for 7 months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Applications are open until January 15th, 2017.

FACE Foundation is actively seeking funding from engaged individuals, foundation, and corporate partners to support the growing network of French dual-language programs across the United States. Your donation will be directed to schools and teachers for whom the need is most acute. You also have the opportunity to specify where you would like your donation to go (to a particular region, or particular funding area).

SCHOOL CONTESTS
DEADLINE: OCTOBER 28th

The Texas French Symposium is taking RSVPs for its 2017 contest. For all calendar deadlines, click here.  This year's theme is "La Côte d'Azur" and the contest will be held at Atascocita High school in Humble March 31st and April 1st. The association is looking for volunteer judges so if you are a French speaker, please join the 2017 Texas French Symposium.

INTERNSHIP OFFER
APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 15, 2016

The Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston is accepting applications for a part-time internship position starting January 9 until March 31, 2017. The Communication and Social Media Intern will assist the staff of the Cultural Service in the creation and management of online content and in the production of communication materials for the 2017 French Cultures Festival.
