à La Nouvelle-Orléans
Avec la participation de la communauté française de La Nouvelle-Orléans, les organisations francophiles et francophones et plusieurs autres partenaires locaux ont mis en commun leurs activités, et recueilli l’amical soutien de la ville de la Nouvelle-Orléans, pour vous proposer cette année "Bastille Day Fête", la toute première Fête du 14 juillet !
Divers évènements seront proposés sur plusieurs jours. Veuillez trouver ci-dessous le programme détaillé :
Dimanche 8 juillet
Une messe sera donnée en français comme chaque année à la Cathédrale St Louis de La Nouvelle-Orléans à 11h par le Père Peter Rogers. La célébration sera suivie d'un déjeuner proposé au restaurant Arnaud's (813 Bienville Street) à 12h30. Pour plus d’informations, appeler le (985) 580 0350 Vendredi 13 juillet L’Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans présente son Bastille Day Dinner au restaurant Galvez (914 North Peter Street) à 20h.

Ne manquez pas le feu d'artifice du 14 juillet de La Nouvelle-Orléans sur le Mississippi à 21h, une première de "Bastille Day Fête", qui lancera les festivités du week-end ! Samedi 14 juillet En début de matinée, la SPA et l’Alliance Française de La Nouvelle-Orléans organisent un Concours de chiens français
sur Dutch Alley, au French Market, à 9 h. Caniches, bulldogs français, bichons et autres toutous déguisés dans un style français seront les bienvenus ! L'inscription débutera à 9h suivie par l’annonce des résultats du concours. A 10h15
M. Jean-Claude Brunet, consul général de France, déposera une gerbe de fleurs au pied de la statue de Jeanne d’Arc, érigée sur la place de France (Decatur Street), une cérémonie organisée par le conseil des sociétés françaises. La statue de Jeanne d’Arc, copie de celle en bronze doré située rue de Rivoli à Paris, est un cadeau fait par le Général de Gaulle lors de son déplacement en Louisiane en 1960. A la suite de la cérémonie, un verre de l’amitié sera offert au public. Le Louisiana Children's Museum (420 Julia Street) présente French Heritage Celebration, de nombreuses activités pour enfants de 11 h à 15 h.

De 15 h à 21 h, Le Bal du 14 juillet offrira une soirée festive avec les concerts de Norbert Slama Trio, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots et Helen Gillet & the Wazozo Orchestra.
La soirée festive, gratuite et ouverte au public, proposera également un bar, des stands de Crêpe à La Carte, Café Degas, La Divina, René Bistro, Maurice French Pastries et Brigade Coffee. A l’occasion de sa 6ème édition, l’association des commerçants du Faubourg St. John organise son annuel Bastille Day Street Party. La fête aura lieu au 3100 Ponce de Leon Street (à l’angle d’Esplanade Ave. et Ponce de Leon St.), le samedi 14 juillet de 17h à 21h. L’entrée sera gratuite. En plus des stands gastronomiques, trois concerts seront proposés: Zazou City, Ukulele Jake, et Creole Stringbeans.

Dimanche 15 juillet
La French Market Corporation tiendra, le dimanche 15 juillet, une traditionnelle course de garçons de café. La compétition débutera à 16h au French Market.

With the participation of the French community of New Orleans, the Francophile and francophone organizations have prepared together with the friendly support of the City of New Orleans the first-ever “Bastille Day Fete”. The majority of the events are free and open to the public.
The Fête will include different activities during several days. The details of the program are as follows:
Sunday, July 8th
A French mass will be held July 8th at 11 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.

This year, we will offer the glittering special of the fireworks show on the Mississippi River at 9 pm to open the festivities of the 14 Juillet (14th of July), the French national day. Saturday, July 14th The Alliance française and the LA/SPCA are hosting a French dog contest
at Dutch Alley in the French Market. Poodles, French bulldogs, Bichons, and all dogs dressed in fancy French style welcome! The registration will be held at 9:00 am followed by a 9:30 am panel of judges and awards ceremony. A wreath laying ceremony in presence of Consul General of France
Jean-Claude Brunet, organized by the Council of the French Societies, will take place at 10 am at the Jeanne d’Arc Statue at Place de France on Decatur Street. Refreshments will be offered afterwards at the Market Café. French Heritage Celebration at Louisiana Children's Museum (420 Julia Street) will celebrate Louisiana's French culture, history and heritage during French Heritage Week through Story Times, Toddler Times, and Fetch! science activities. For the first time, the Consulate General of France in New Orleans, the Francophone organizations and the French community of New Orleans are hosting a Bal du 14 juillet. It will be held the night of Bastille Day and will take place at the Old US Mint's courtyard with lots of fantastic activities.
From 3 pm to 9 pm this fête will present French music by Norbert Slama Trio, Sunpie & The Louisiana sunspots and Helen Gillet & the Wazozo Orchestra. There will be a cash bar, food by Crêpe à la Cart, Cafe Degas, Chateau du Lac, La Divina, René Bistro, Maurice French Pastries and Brigade Coffee.
This event is free to the Public! Everyone is invited to dress up in French style and to dance on the French music!

events@consulfrance-nouvelleorléans.org The Faubourg St John Merchants Association is celebrating its 6th annual Bastille Day Street Party, on Saturday July 14th, from 5 pm to 9 pm at 3100 Ponce de Leon Street (at the corner of Esplanade Avenue and Ponce de Leon Street). Music will be performed by Zazou City, Ukulele Jake, Creole Stringbeans and food and drinks will be provided by the businesses in the local community.
