The Cultural Services of the French Embassy present the first U.S. performance by French harpsichordist Jean Rondeau. Awarded at the prestigious Les Victoires de la Musique Classique as Best Solo Artist Revelation
in 2015, Rondeau will offer a program that features works by Scarlatti and Bach. This concert joins the spirit of the 34th annual Fête de la Musique under the 2015 theme Vivre ensemble la musique - Living Music Together. READ MORE |

In continuation of the 34th annual Fête de la Musique, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy present a concert by Paperhaus, a DC-based rock band. Their self-titled debut full length album - released in February 2015 - has multiple singers. The songs take cues from psychedelic inclined bands like CAN, King Crimson, Deerhunter and Lower Dens, and mix pop elements from Radiohead, Talking Heads, The Smiths and Real Estate.

The French Cinémathèque
series by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy presents the screening of Maestro, a film by Léa Fazer. The film begins with the story of Henri, a young French actor who dreams of starring in an American blockbuster movie. Contrary to his expectations, however, he finds himself cast in a film by Cédric Rovère, a renowned independent filmmaker. The French Cinémathèque at the Embassy of France takes place every second Tuesday of the month. Online reservations are required.

The Poitou-Charentes Region, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, is pleased to offer a cultural program to join the celebration of the Hermione
in Washington, DC. It is on board the Hermione that the Marquis de Lafayette came in 1780 to help the American insurgents gain independence. During 17 years, the ship was built in Rochefort, Poitou-Charentes Region. The Hermione is now crossing the Atlantic Ocean to arrive in the United States and celebrate its ancestor.
