Hailed as part of the new school of French electro, Brodinski is a 27-year-old sneakerhead from the city of Reims who favors southern-fried hip-hop over anything disco. The entire neighborhood slept as a young woman was sexually assaulted and murdered, all the while crying aloud for help. Apparently. As days go by, Louise learns that 38 people, saw or heard something.

In the occupied France of 1940, a 5-year-old Parisian girl, Paulette finds herself suddenly orphaned and alone, until a rural family takes her in. Forming a profound friendship with the family’s 11-year-old son, Michel, Paulette, confused by the mysteries of death and desperate to make sense of a universe out of balance, joins Michel in a secret ritual that they hope will create order out of the chaos around them.

A collection of films—which includes works rarely considered alongside one another—lends another perspective to the major exhibition International Pop  by examining cinema as an extension of Pop practice around the world including films by Jean Luc-Godard, Guy Debord, Alain Resnais, René Viénet and Niki de Saint Phalle.

A successful but burnt-out Swiss architect (Rongione) journeys with his disenchanted wife (Prot) to Italy, where he researches the work of his idol Francesco Borromini and encounters an intense young brother and sister who might reawaken his passion for art and love.

The Art Institute of Chicago joins forces with The Arts Club of Chicago to host a pair of exhibitions featuring the work of French artist Jean-Luc Mylayne. The shows unite inside and outside, nature and culture, and bring together again two Chicago institutions that have deep historical ties. Further connecting the twin exhibitions is a third element, a public building in Millennium Park’s Lurie Garden featuring a 30-foot-long photographic fresco covering its entire ceiling.

International Pop chronicles the global emergence of Pop art from the 1950s through the early 1970s and specifically,examines work from artists across the globe. It  follows the trajectories of Pop and its critical points of contact with global developments in art such as Nouveau Réalisme (France), Concretism and Neo-Concretism (Brazil), the Art of Things (Argentina), Anti-Art (Japan), Capitalist Realism (Germany), Happenings, and Neo-Dada. This groundbreaking exhibition, one of the Walker Art Center's most ambitious historical shows, includes the works of the followin French artists:  Martial Raysse, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean-Pierre Mirouze and Ben Vautier.

Screenings are held in conjunction with the show including films by Jean Luc-Godard, Guy Debord, Alain Resnais, René Viénet and Niki de Saint Phalle.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), or North Korea, has been called the Hermit Kingdom, as it is one of the most reclusive states in the world. The exhibition North Korea Perspectives is divided into two main sections: one showing the government’s official version of North Korea and the other one showing a non-controlled stream of images coming out of the country like photographs produced by international photojournalists inside North Korea, Google Earth images analyzed by archivists and researchers, and international artists using photography and video to directly address North Korea including French artists Pierre Bessard, Philippe Chancel and Marie Voignier.

As part of EXPO ART WEEK, the MoCP will host a panel discussion featuring Philippe Chancel in conversation with Europe-based independent curator Marc Prüst on Tuesday, September 15. The panel will consider contemporary visual representations of North Korea by focusing on Chancel’s work—one of few artists allowed access to photograph this isolated nation—and Prüst’s impetus behind the
MoCP’s exhibition.

This exhibition showcases the multifaceted world of the black avant-garde in Chicago during the 1960's alongside a selection of comptemporary artists' interpretations of this heritage. The work of french artist Lili Reynaud-Dewar will be featured as a part of the exhibit.

Each month, Albertine Books, located within the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York, hosts a number of lively events with visiting artists, authors and other personalities whose work are related to French Culture. Those events are also live streamed for audiences in the USA.

Le Service culturel du Consulat général de France à Chicago, en partenariat avec l'Alliance Française de Chicago, organise une formation intensive (21h) sur le thème du jeu pédagogique en classe de français langue étrangère pour les professeurs américains de français afin de les aider à diversifier leurs supports pédagogiques et leurs techniques d’animation dans leur classe de français.

Le séminaire sera animé par Haydée Silva, formatrice de formateurs depuis 1992, professeure titulaire à l’Université Nationale Autonome du Mexique et professeure invitée à l’Université de Paris 13 et à l’Université Stendhal Grenoble 3.

Le séminaire est ouvert à tous les professeurs américains de français. Le nombre de places est limité à 25.
