The third session of the 2015 webinar spring program presented by the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée - Université de Besançon and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy is about « How to promote French language learning interest in US schools and universities ».

Congratulations to the University of Houston debate team semi-finalists of the 2015 Lafayette Debates, who were awarded study tours to Paris! The UH debate team is led by Sarah Spring. 

The Lafayette Debates is an academic series initiated by the Higher Education Department of the French Embassy in the United States in partnership with the George Washington University and U.S. civil society to promote intercultural understanding and relations between France and the US. In anticipation of the 2015 Conference of the Parties (COP21) in Paris, this year's theme was: "That all states have an obligation to anticipate, prevent and minimize the causes of climate change, and mitigate its adverse effects".

Texas recently started offering a "State Seal of Biliteracy." It recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
