AWARDS |
The Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston congratulates Ally Zhang, a student at Plano West High School (10th grade) and Obie Amudo, a student at The John Cooper School (9th grade) on winning the Texas French Symposium 2016. They will be awarded a two week stay in the Planète Langues Junior Campus program
in Rambouillet, France, sponsored by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston. The third winner, Diego Morales, a student at The Woodlands High School (12th grade) will be taking a trip to France in a host family, organized by ORCA. Congratulations to all three! The Transatlantic Friendship and Mobility Intitiative, a joint declaration made on May 13, 2014 by the U.S. Department of State and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, established the United States and France’s common interest in doubling and diversifying student mobility by 2025. Tournées Film Festival is a program of the FACE Foundation, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, which aims to bring French cinema to American college and university campuses. In 2016-2017, we are proud to offer a wide variety of films that represent the best of French cinema distributed in the U.S., including acclaimed filmmakers (Arnaud Desplechin, Philippe Garrel, Bertrand Bonello) and new talents that recently emerged on the international scene (Lucie Borleteau, Thomas Lilti).

New Faces of French Animation, a program launched by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the US and Canada in 2015, offers non-commercial theaters a selection of short animated films that were presented at the most recent Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is returning in 2016 for its second year.
