The 2017 edition of SOLUNA festival will be presenting a world premiere musical soundscape by French composer and GRAMMY® Award-winning Henri Scars Struck, an interactive audio-visual work by French/American artists Frank and Lee Dufour of Agence 5970, and an exploration of experimental cinema using synesthesia and visualization of music by French artist collective NOMINOË.

MARFA, TX | MAY 26-28

"Marfa Sounding: Anna Halprin" is co-presented by Marfa Live Arts with Fieldwork Marfa and curated by Jennifer Burris. The free three-day program focuses on the work of legendary choreographer Anna Halprin with a series of workshops, screenings, lectures, and dance performances featuring Stephen Petronio, Silas Riener & Rashaun Mitchell, and Nina Martin at Crowley Theater, Building 98, and Fieldwork Marfa's Antelope Hills Land.

MARFA, TX & LIVE STREAMING | MAY 27-29 | 2 PM

L.A. Dance Project, co-founded by French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, will be presenting a series of dance performances at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa. Eight site-specific dances in eight locations of the museum's permanent collection, that can be experienced both in situ and live on the video platform Periscope.

DALLAS, TX | UNTIL JULY 16

As a result of a combined cultural endeavor between Mexico and France, this major traveling exhibition explores 50 years of Mexican modern art to reveal the history and development of modern Mexico and its cultural identity.

The exhibition, on view at the Dallas Museum of Art, includes works produced by Mexican artists living and working in Paris at the turn of the century, and premiered in October 2016 at the Grand Palais in Paris.

The French Voices Awards rewards both American translators and publishers for translations of works that have been published in France in the last 6 years. Each book receives a $6,000 award, shared between the American publisher and the translator. Each year, the committee also elects a Grand Prize Winner, who receives $10,000 in total. A book tour will also be offered to the French author after his work is published in the US. Apply now.

Hemingway Grants allow publishers to receive financial help for the translation and publication of a French work into English. Grant beneficiaries are selected by the Book Department of the French Embassy in the United States. Grants awarded for each work range from $500 to $3,000. Apply now.

The Institut Français helps American publishers offset the cost of acquiring the rights to French works. Grant beneficiaries are selected by the Institut Français in Paris. The amount awarded cannot exceed the amount of the advance paid to the French publisher for the acquisition of rights and varies from €500 to €7,000. Apply now.

The Tournées Film Festival program aims to bring French cinema to American college and university campuses, by awarding grants of $2,200 covering the cost of six film screenings. Professors, departments, student organizations, film clubs, or other university-affiliated institutions are invited to apply by May 26.
