French director Michaël Dacheux will be in Chicago to present his debut feature movie Love Blooms (L'Amour debout).  Join us for a free screening and post-film Q&A, moderated by Ray Pride of the magazine New City. With this sensitive film, Michaël Dacheux puts a fresh spin on the stylistic and thematic tropes of the French New Wave and its immediate descendants, filming the lives and loves of young people on the streets of Paris much like his predecessors did.

The Goethe-Institut Chicago and the Cultural Service at the Consulate of France in Chicago are delighted to announce the Artistic Scholarship winners as part of Between Gestures, a 2019 program that aims to connect Chicago and the Midwest to the European Scene in contemporary performance and dance. Truly moved by all the messages and support we received from our Midwest partners, friends and followers for Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris - Merci! If you wish to support the restoration of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, you can make a donation to the Foundation du Patrimoine heritage fund for the cathedral’s reconstruction. The U.S.-based public charity Friends of Notre-Dame de Paris is also accepting donations from Americans to help rebuild the cathedral.
