A resource for teachers and students of French to discover the opportunities available on-site in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma as well as online and abroad. A major priority in the mission of the
Cultural Service of the French Consulate in Houston is to develop pedagogical tools for teachers, provide them with opportunities for professional development and keep them updated about what is new in the field of education. The ultimate goal is to promote the teaching of French in schools and universities and to encourage students to learn French in a dynamic and creative way. The Cultural Service at the French Consulate in Houston invites all teachers of French to participate in a 3-hour workshop, dealing with "The Use of Songs in the French Classroom." The workshop will be led by Dominique Denis, master Teacher of French from Toronto, Canada.

SUMMER 2014 I DENTON, TX
Held every Summer at the University of North Texas,
this program enables French teachers to earn 3-6 graduate credits. Each course is 3 credits and is taught over a two-week period on campus with an online component. Teachers may earn a M.A. in French through a combination of courses completed during the Summer and/or academic year with the possibility of a minor or 6 transfer credits. Teachers (K-12, colleges, universities and Alliances Françaises) can now access the IF cinema platform of the Institut Français for educational purposes. More than 300 royalty-free films are available (fiction, documentaries, feature and short films, recent releases, cultural heritage films and films for young audiences) along with over 50 educational kits. To have access to the films, teachers must register and have their educational project validated.
