The French television channel TV5MONDE USA will be presenting special programming dedicated to Louisiana and its French heritage. This series begins Saturday and Sunday, May 2 & 3, 2015.

The second annual European Film Festival begins this weekend at the Manship Theater in Baton Rouge. This year will feature screenings from Poland, Italy, France, Switzerland, Russia, and Turkey. The selection of films for this year’s event was based on submissions for best Foreign Language Film at the Oscar Awards.

The Consulate General of France in Louisiana would like to announce the donation of over 400 books to the New Orleans Public Library. These French children’s books, which include titles beloved by both French and American readers, are dedicated to the children of our city to encourage the love of reading.

The Consulate General of France in Louisiana recognizes the excellent work of two students from Audubon's French immersion program: Derek Witzig, who was chosen to partipate in the International Grand Finale of the Dictée P.G.L. on May 24, and Elsa Trumel, who won a prize for her submission in the Grand Concours de Poésie, "Les Cenelles".

During the events of La Semaine Francaise d’Arnaudville this year, the Consulate General of France in Louisiana congratulated the winners of two competitions: “The Environment in my School” and “Bilingual Generation”.

The Consulate General wishes to congratulate the Lycée Français of New Orleans, which took first prize for "The Environment in My School", and Janny Mesa of Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies, who won an incredible trip to France!
